The short life of Johnny Day by So What
Johnny Day was a beautiful boy
his mother's treasure, he was his father's joy
But then the marriage came in bad weather
even their love for johnny couldn't keep them together
So Johnny grew up in a broken home
raised by his mother he wa mostly alone
for every day she had to go off to work
and for johnny a hundred temptations lurked
Johnny, Johnny, Johnny, Johnny, Johnny, Johnny Day
Johnny met a bullet at the end of his way
has no one ever told you how to handle this jive
oh Johnny, what have you done to your life
At the age of sixteen Johnny dropped out of school
an education is for losers and fools
the only way how to make it through life
is become streetwise and learn to survive
He robbed a mother with a stroller
all he gained was a lousy hundred dollars
but Johnny never knew getting money was so easy
so Johnny got reckless and he got greedy
Johnny, Johnny, Johnny, Johnny, Johnny, Johnny Day
Johnny met a bullet at the end of his way
has no one ever told you how to handle this jive
oh Johnny, what have you done to your life
So Johnny went to a bar and there he drunk
up enough courage to go go to the City Bank
Armed with a gun and a legal pad note
"Gimme all ya money" was what he wrote
Then Johnny knew his luck had run out
when all of a sudden he heard a shout:
"Drop your weapon and get down on the floor!"
Johnny turned and made a break to the door...
Johnny, Johnny, Johnny, Johnny, Johnny, Johnny Day
Johnny met a bullet at the end of his way
has no one ever told you how to handle this jive
oh Johnny, what have you done to your life
Johnny fell down and said:
“God I’m hit…”
That was the last thing that he ever did
Has no one ever told you how to handle this jive
Oh johnny….
